FAQs

We understand that you will have lots of questions about our courses, so below are answers to the questions we are frequently asked. If you have other questions please get in contact with us via email on info@lydnow.com or call on +91 97631 63833

1. How can I learn to program?
  • If you are a fresher and have not done any programming yet, it is best to start by understanding computer science concepts and implementing them in coding projects with simple visual platforms like Scratch or Snap. These are free online tools that one can use to sharpen their CS skills and logical abilities for coding.
  • Once you are confident with your fundamentals in computational thinking and problem-solving abilities with scratch/snap (having done complex advanced projects like building user-interactive games), you can then start focussing on specific programming languages. Popular languages, to begin with, would be C, Python, or Java.
  • We recommend this part of the journey to be taken under the supervision of an experienced CS professional or at a  programming course , ensuring personal attention to your queries and doubts at various stages.
  • If you are a self-learner, you can refer to online tutorials/books. Your learning curve in any of these cases should go from understanding of CS concepts to programming logic to algorithms, and lastly to language-specific syntax.
  • Python is built to be a very user-friendly programming language.  Python programming  is very close to writing logical statements in human language. Python is popularly used for a wide range of applications.
  • Data science, ML and AI, web development, game development are a few applications. Python is known to deliver great results with data-related projects and also has extensive library support for a variety of applications.
  • Yes. Currently, computer science and advance applications like  Machine learning and AI  are being adopted across industries.
  • As the world becomes more connected with increasing internet speeds and data being collected, analyzed at huge volumes rapidly, today computer science is a very promising career option and will be for many years to come.
  • One can learn to program online. It is highly advised to start your journey by first building a solid foundation in computational thinking and CS concepts.
  • This initial phase is best done through a course where you can work with an experienced trainer who can guide you and help shape your learning curve at a comfortable pace.
  •  Lydnow's beginner courses  in CS concepts with Scratch, Snap, and Python serve as a great launching pad for programming enthusiasts to start their journey with programming.
  • One can move on to advanced online tutorials once they develop a fair amount of confidence with programming concepts, logical operations, and problem-solving activities and projects.
  • For beginners, the most important things to develop are computational thinking, problem-solving, algorithmic logic, testing and debugging, and also creativity and abstract thinking skills with  programming.  This can be achieved by starting with easy to use visual programming platforms like scratch and snap.
  • Beginners develop their abilities to solve simple to complex programming challenges and in the process learn programming essentials like sequencing, loops, events, conditionals, variables, etc.
  • Post this once a student is confident with basic CS concepts he or she can move on to syntax specific programming languages.
  • Learning from home is advised under the mentorship of an experienced trainer or CS professional.
  • For  Python programming,  one has to keep in mind the pre-requisites of familiarity with programming concepts and some experience with block-based programming languages like snap or scratch.
  • Before self-learning, one should learn with a mentor who is experienced in Python and can answer your doubts and questions with clear explanations.
  • The trainer guides you through practical demonstrations and challenges you with interesting assignments in live sessions. It is usually not available in online tutorials and books.
  • Teaching yourself advance skills in Python eventually comes with you taking on complex projects and programming challenges on your own, once your initial foundation in CS and relevant skills are in place.
  • For students in the age group of 9-13, we recommend starting with our beginner level programs in scratch programming.
  • For students who are 13 and above, they can start with our beginner level program in CS concepts with  Python programming.
  • However, prior exposure to basic concepts and experience in visual block-based programming like scratch or snap is expected before starting python course.

I am very satisfied with the quality of training at Lydnow Robotics. The way the kids are handled, boosts their imagination, logical thinking and confidence in them. Pratham has become more confident and has started thinking out of the box, always thinking of doing things differently and better. You guys are exceptionally great in training the kids. Hoping you keep doing the same magic with many more kids. All the best!
