PCB Designing Courses at Lydnow

Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are single, double, or multi-layered boards connecting electronic components. They are made of non-conductive materials and have lines and pads etched from copper sheets that connect the electronic components within a product. Lydnow's courses on PCB designing are a good entry point for first time designers enthusiastic about designing and etching their own single and double sided PCB layouts. You will learn to use computer-aided designing (CAD) software such as Autodesk EAGLE and Altium. This is a good platform to learn the entire process of manufacturing PCBs and assembling them via through-hole and surface mounting of components.

We understand that you will have lots of questions about our courses, so below are answers to the questions we are frequently asked. If you have other questions please get in contact with us via email on info@lydnow.com or call on +91 97631 63833

1. What is PCB designing?
  • PCB designing is a computer-aided designing technology. It is used to plan and design circuit boards for electronics circuits designed to deliver a specific output or outputs.
  • PCB designing is done for both through-hole and surface mount electronic components. Typically any electronic PCB design involves putting together a combination of power supply systems, control systems, communication systems, input, and output systems together in a single or multiple PCBs that can work in interfacing with each other.
  • PCB be designing is done to meet specific design requirements relating to performance, space, cost, etc PCB designing could be done in single and multiple layers. Multilayer designing is very sought after PCB designing skills.
  • PCB designing usually involves the following steps: Schematic design, PCB layout design (single/multiple layers), setup and layer files extraction, 3D modeling and representation of the finished PCB (advanced skill)
  • PCB designing is a relatively easy skill to acquire if a student is guided correctly by a mentor through sequential stages of learning through practical projects and challenges.
  • PCB designing comes easily to individuals who previously have essential knowledge of electronics and circuit design fundamentals.
  • Homemade PCBs usually are limited to single-layer designs that can be printed on copper PCBs that are very easily available. There are ample tutorials on the internet that can guide enthusiasts through the process of manufacturing homemade PCBs.
  • Professional grade PCBs are machine manufactured and go though multiple precesses and checks and therefore are highly reliable.
  • Exporting your PCB layout and design files to suite your manufacturer's requirements can be an important skill to have for PCB designers.
  • PCBs are categorized as per various criteria.
  • The number of layers, Rigidity- Flexibility, Hybrids, High frequency/ minimal energy losses are some criteria that help differentiate between PCBs.
  • Eagle and Altium are amongst the most popular and widely used PCB designing software. Eagle provides the option of a free and limited student version that comes in very handy for beginners who want to start learning.
  • There are other online PCB designing software like EasyEDA and fritzing with their own merits.
  • Once PCBs are made (multi-layered PCBs), they are put through a process of masking that adds protective non conducting layers over the PCB.
  • These layers can be colored, green being the most commonly used color for masking PCBs. Other commonly used colors are black, blue, and red.
  • Lydnow's PCB designing courses are aimed towards skilling up students and professionals looking forward to adding PCB designing to their important career skills.
  • Lydnow's PCB design courses create the right design abilities and software skills that prepare students for entry-level jobs in the PCB designing industry. From a fundamental understanding of electronics concepts to circuit diagram reading skills to complex schematic and PCB layouts designing, Lydnow's PCB designing courses facilitate a wholesome learning curve.
  • Students also understand the processes of producing PCBs at home as well as preparing various setup file before outsourcing the job of making PCBs to companies. Students make multi-layered PCB designs and also produce 3D models of complex PCBs.

I really appreciate the insight and exposure that was provided in robotics by the Lydnow team. They were always there for us,24*7,helped us whenever needed & be creative in doing our projects. I think every moment spent at Lydnow was wonderful & in specific attending as a team to IIT Mumbai techfest was the best. I am proud to be a LYDNOWIAN & would be happy to join any workshop or attend any courses further. Thanks a lot, Arijit sir for being what you are. You are the best teacher I have come across. I am indebted to all the instructors & trainers who patiently taught me & helped me to build projects.

I am very satisfied with the quality of training at Lydnow Robotics. The way the kids are handled, boosts their imagination, logical thinking and confidence in them. Pratham has become more confident and has started thinking out of the box, always thinking of doing things differently and better. You guys are exceptionally great in training the kids. Hoping you keep doing the same magic with many more kids. All the best!
