Drones or UAV are inventive transformations that have significantly aided in making businesses more efficient and robust in recent years. Miniature drones, pocket drones, nano quadcopter drones and radio-controlled drones are all in use in various industries.

3D printing can be a valuable instrument to create physical objects or parts of it. It can assist in creating and designing a project.   3D printing courses empowers quick prototyping, but at the same time it's feasible to deliver a completed project or model on account of 3D printing. Any thought or idea in the digital space can spring to life in the realm of 3D printing.

Lydnow’s summer   online 3D printing and drone program offers an opportunity for students to have short but fun experiences in the fundamentals of both these technologies.

Key technical skills that the child gets acquainted with through this course is 3D designing basics, 3D printing process and the structure and working of FDM 3D printers. For drones, students are trained in the fundamentals of quadcopter system design, students are given 1 practical face to face session where they can assemble, test and fly a drone.

The software that Lydnow’s online 3D printing course uses for CAD training is Tinkercad. For drones students design and 3D print their drone frames and implement the electronic systems and learn to fly a mini palm size quad copter.

These courses are stepping stones towards more detailed curricula that Lydnow Robotics conducts in each of these fields of technologies. Knowing the need and skill sets required for a career in these fields, Lydnow regularly upgrades the course content and has kept the curricula relevant with latest trends in these technologies.

The course facilitates an experience where the child can   learn 3D design and acquire 3D spatial perception skills, simulation and modelling skills and develop research and innovation based thinking. It teaches students creative and problem solving skills that flares a passion for original and cognitive thinking, which can later be applied in tech careers or business.

Lydnow’s   3D printing for kids and drones basic course is bridging the gap between physical and digital worlds and helping students conceptualise and visualise their designs as they develop their work from development stage to the final product.

FAQs

We understand that you will have lots of questions about our courses, so below are answers to the questions we are frequently asked. If you have other questions please get in contact with us via email on info@lydnow.com or call on +91 97631 63833

1. Where can I learn about drones?
  • Drones are one of the most fascinating developments in robotics and aviation. Depending on your interest you can start your journey by assembling a Drone of your choice and configuration and then develop it further for complex applications.
  • A good place to start, according to us, would be to assemble a simple multi-copter like a mini- racing drone. This is a relatively affordable entry into the drone world that gives you exposure to all important aspects of drone design.
  • Starting from the choice of drone frame type, to designing and 3D printing/buying the frame of your choice, choosing the motors and compatible rotors, choosing the flight controller and battery, etc and finally learning to fly your drone safely; these simple steps can get one started on their own.
  • Internet tutorials usually focus on bigger multi-copter drones made by drone enthusiasts and could be a more expensive starting point for beginners. You could also consider attending a practical foundation course on drones.
  • Today, it's cheaper to buy a drone. However, it is difficult to add upgrades or modify your drone's performance with ready-made drones, so the long term costs of buying a cheap drone could be higher than just making your DIY drone. Also, making your drone is highly likely to make you a lot more skilled and grow your know-how.
  • Readymade off the shelf drones come with a lot of built in-flight stability and your job as a pilot is significantly reduced.
  • So if you are looking at just having a good time flying a drone, you could consider just buying an RTF(ready to fly) drone off the shelf.
  • The first step to programming a drone would be to understand how a drone works.
  • Build a manually controlled mini drone first to understand its electromechanical functions, sensors and navigation systems, and its communication system.
  • You could also start with educational drones that can be programmed with block-based software or an easy programming language like python.
  • Lydnow's courses on Mini-Racing Drones and FPV drones are designed to be a comprehensive and easy practical entry for beginners into the world of drone making.
  • The courses provide the correct balance of essential know-how and practical experience in drone design. Students learn the fundamentals of drone frame designs, motors and propeller configuration choices, flight controllers and sensors, drone communication, power supply design, and drone flying.
  • Students create their drone designs and add a level of complexities and improve the performance of their drones along the way.
  • Lydnow's drone courses are designed to enable drone enthusiasts to pursue their interests by equipping them with the necessary skills and experience.
