PCB Designing (Beg) - Online

learn pcb designing course online in pune lydnow robotics

Lydnow conducts short and long term courses to teach students how to create their own PCBs (printed circuit boards). In this short course, students learn how to design the schematics of the circuit using EAGLE, a computer design tool. They print, transfer and heat press their design to a copper clad board. They learn how to print their own circuits by etching copper tracks on the copper clad board.

Technical skills taught:

  • Reading and testing electronic circuits
  • Basic schematic designs
  • Basic PCB layout
  • Home made PCBs

PCB designing is the field of designing printed circuit boards that mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive tracks, pads, and other features etched on it. Various electronic circuits play specific roles and are combined together in an electronic device that is designed to do a specific task. For example the motherboard of a computer or an induction cooker. This entire electronic system is put together on a printed circuit board. A PCB makes your appliance reliable and enables its functionality.

Electronic system design involves stages like concept design, system design, component identification, circuit design, circuit testing and finally PCB designing and assembly. Therefore, PCB designing is the process through which an electronic system becomes a usable product. PCBs are often custom designed to fit the form(size and shape) of the product they enable in order to improve aesthetics and enable superior functionality.

PCB designing, therefore, is a very important part of the electronics industry. It’s a vital and a rewarding field to build a career in, if one can get skilled at it.

Lydnow’s online PCB designing course aims at developing the ability to read and design simple intermediate level electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and PCB manufacturing techniques and helps develop skills in using industrial PCB designing software.

The module consists of two courses - short term and long term. The short term deals with building and designing the schematics of electronic circuits using basic PCB designing software like EAGLE CAD, upto 2 layer designs.

The long-term circuit design course includes extensive research, complex procedures, and the ability to utilize tools and develop features such as components libraries and schematic capture, while working on advanced software like Altium and PAD

The beginner's PCB Design online course (short term) covers reading and testing electronic circuits, basic schematic designs, basic PCB layout, and homemade PCB design. It also inculcates skills like abstract reasoning, problem-solving, ideating, design thinking, and simulation and modeling.

This comprehensive PCB designing course (long term) will keep the student up to date with the current technologies and innovations thereby giving them an edge. This field has fierce competition, with the ever growing demand in the electronics and automation market. Therefore, it is essential for a student to learn from the right mentors, develop crucial skills by working on live projects and problem solving opportunities and stay up to date with trends of this industry.

1. Is the PCB designing course available online?
  • The  beginner level program in PCB designing course  aims at developing the ability to read and design simple to intermediate electronic circuits, design simple to intermediate circuit schematics, single layer PCB layout design, and homemade PCB manufacturing techniques.
  • The  online version of this PCB Designing program  focuses more on CAD design skills and includes a live online demonstration of the PCB manufacturing process.
  • The offline course however comes with the experience of students making their own homemade PCBs in the physical classrooms.
  • Lydnow's online courses include beginner and intermediate level courses.
  • For PCB Designing beginner-level course any student who belongs to the specified age group can attend; there are no other prerequisites.
  • For PCB Designing intermediate course, additionally, a student needs to have attended Lydnow's beginner level course in the same course category or have the required practical knowledge and understanding before attending the intermediate level course.
  • It is best if you get in touch with us for an evaluation before signing up for an intermediate level course, in case you have not attended the beginner course with Lydnow.
  • The  higher-level courses in PCB designing  focus on advanced schematic design techniques with CAD software.
  • Multilayer designs, 3D modeling of PCB product designs, layer set up, and file extraction for professional PCB manufacturing are experiences included in higher-level courses.
  • PCB designing course  at Lydnow begins on software like Eagle CAD.
  • During higher levels, students upgrade themselves to industrial software like Altium.
  • For  PCB Designing online courses , live sessions are recorded and shared with students after the sessions.
  • In the event of missing one or more sessions, students are required to watch the recorded sessions, complete the practical activities, and report the same to Lydnow's Trainers.
  • For offline sessions, students are required to put in extra hours to cover what they have missed. We do not recommend missing more than one session during PCD Designing Course.
  • Essentially PCB designing does not require any hardware.
  • Notes and assignments are provided online.
  • Students however can order for their PCB designs to be made and delivered to them.
  • Yes, but with prior notice and minimum 3 days ahead of the start date of the PCB Designing course.

I am very satisfied with the quality of training at Lydnow Robotics. The way the kids are handled, boosts their imagination, logical thinking and confidence in them. Pratham has become more confident and has started thinking out of the box, always thinking of doing things differently and better. You guys are exceptionally great in training the kids. Hoping you keep doing the same magic with many more kids. All the best!
