Lydnow conducts short and long term courses to teach students how to create their own PCBs (printed circuit boards). In this short course, students learn how to design the schematics of the circuit using EAGLE, a computer design tool. They print, transfer and heat press their design to a copper clad board. They learn how to print their own circuits by etching copper tracks on the copper clad board.
PCB designing is the field of designing printed circuit boards that mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive tracks, pads, and other features etched on it. Various electronic circuits play specific roles and are combined together in an electronic device that is designed to do a specific task. For example the motherboard of a computer or an induction cooker. This entire electronic system is put together on a printed circuit board. A PCB makes your appliance reliable and enables its functionality.
Electronic system design involves stages like concept design, system design, component identification, circuit design, circuit testing and finally PCB designing and assembly. Therefore, PCB designing is the process through which an electronic system becomes a usable product. PCBs are often custom designed to fit the form(size and shape) of the product they enable in order to improve aesthetics and enable superior functionality.
PCB designing, therefore, is a very important part of the electronics industry. It’s a vital and a rewarding field to build a career in, if one can get skilled at it.
Lydnow’s online PCB designing course aims at developing the ability to read and design simple intermediate level electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and PCB manufacturing techniques and helps develop skills in using industrial PCB designing software.
The module consists of two courses - short term and long term. The short term deals with building and designing the schematics of electronic circuits using basic PCB designing software like EAGLE CAD, upto 2 layer designs.
The long-term circuit design course includes extensive research, complex procedures, and the ability to utilize tools and develop features such as components libraries and schematic capture, while working on advanced software like Altium and PAD
The beginner's PCB Design online course (short term) covers reading and testing electronic circuits, basic schematic designs, basic PCB layout, and homemade PCB design. It also inculcates skills like abstract reasoning, problem-solving, ideating, design thinking, and simulation and modeling.
This comprehensive PCB designing course (long term) will keep the student up to date with the current technologies and innovations thereby giving them an edge. This field has fierce competition, with the ever growing demand in the electronics and automation market. Therefore, it is essential for a student to learn from the right mentors, develop crucial skills by working on live projects and problem solving opportunities and stay up to date with trends of this industry.
